Tailcone assembly part 1

Started the assembly of the tailcone tonight. - 4 man hours

Started out finishing the aft most bulkhead sub assembly.

Solid rivets set with the squeezer hold the hinges together.

Back side...

Had to pop this bushing into place.  The hole is already the correct size.

Had to solid rivet these shear clips into the J stiffeners that get riveted to the bottom skins.  Not really sure why these J stiffeners are separate components and why they did not just form them into the skin the entire length of the skins?

The add on J stiffener gets match drilled to the built in stiffener on the skin.

And then riveted with solid rivets.

Then the bottom skins get inserted into the notches on the bulkheads.  I bought two adjustable tables at HomeDepot that are a lifesaver on the back!  (Thanks Smitty for the tip!)

One side all cleco'ed.

The other side cleco'ed.

My youngest daughter helping place the rivets.

I made sure to complete the SB at this stage which is much easier to do now!

Half the rivets are pulled.

Then the other half....

Laura getting training on how to pull the rivets.

Bottom done!

Flip the half canoe!

Hanging the side skins.

Both side skins are cleco'ed.
